Centrists Empower the Grassroots
A Centrist Democracy Lecture Series (CDLS) were conducted consecutively in four different municipalities in the province of Camiguin from April 17 to April 19, 2015.
These areas include the Municipality of Mahinog, Municipality of Sagay, Municipality of Mambajao, and the Municipality of Guinsiliban.
About 20-30 participants joined and represented various sectors of their province.
Each particular seminar introduced the promotion of “Human Dignity” as the core value of Centrist Democracy together with its four founding pillars: democracy and the rule of law; social market economy; subsidiarity, decentralization towards federalism; and electoral and political reform.
An input on the context of Philippine politics and its party system was also discussed followed by a workshop on their respective local issues and concerns.
All participants were also briefed about the history of Centrist Democracy in the Philippines. After which was a presentation on one of the centrist pillar - the electoral and political reforms and the criteria of a real political party.
Following the open forum was a quick synthesis and closing remarks.
The seminars in Camiguin were conducted by CDPI Master Trainors, Mr. Jordan Antolin and Mr. Renato Tibon.
