CENTRIST DEMOCRACY LECTURE SERIES IN COTABATO
A Centrist Democracy Lecture Series (CDLS) was held last 26 to 29 May 2015 in four areas of Cotabato, Mindanao to espouse mainly of the promotion of human dignity and the four pillars of Centrist Democracy.
These four areas include Pres. Roxas, Matalam, Mlang, and Brgy. Sibsib Tulunan where about 25 – 30 participants composed of barangay leaders joined.
The seminar started with a usual rationale on the context of Philippine politics and party system. The Centrist Democracy Political Institute (CDPI) and the CDLS were also introduced.
Participants were involved thru workshops on the local issues and concerns in their respective areas. This was followed by an assessment on their individual participation in the political process of their barangays and municipalities.
Some members showed interest in joining a political party such as the Centrist Democratic Party of the Philippines (CDP) so a lecture was held thereon about the need to organize the party’s districts and region.
The CDLS was facilitated by Salvador G. Himulatan, Chairman of CDP Clustered District of Cotabato and Renato Tibon, Political Advocacy Officer in Mindanao.
CDPI is a non-government organization that conducts seminars on political technocracy to individuals and members of Centrist oriented groups nationwide.
