FEDERAL-PARLIAMENTARY ADVOCACY ON THE MOVE

Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III met with the CDPI President, Lito Lorenzana and the rest of PDP-Laban officers and members in a Fellowship dinner right after the two-day Federalism Conference organized by the PDP-Laban.

In the said conference, two members of the National Board of Advisors of CDPI, Dr. Jose V. Abueva and Chief Justice Reynato Puno (Ret.) participated as its guest speakers.

PDP-Laban plans to conduct conferences nationwide to debate and draft a Federal Constitution to be finalized in August. While CDPI and its political party, the Centrist Democratic Party of the Philippines (CDP) will present the 2005 Consultative Commission’s draft of a Federal-Parliamentary form of government.

Both groups having parallel goals will go nationwide to educate the people on Federalism.

PDP-Laban initiatives will be under the direction of Senator Koko with a mandate from the President Rodrigo Duterte Administration (PRRD) while CDP/CDPI will do this in its private capacity.

The CDPI has recently conducted two Federalism Conferences in Taguig and Davao City with participants from the business community, academe, non-government organization and the media.
